The StarTech SATA to USB Cable with UASP (USB3S2SAT3CB) is a portable adapter designed to provide quick external access to a 2.5" SATA solid-state drive (SSD) or hard drive (HDD) through a computer's USB-A port. The cable supports USB 3.0 (5Gbps) data transfer speeds and is enhanced with the UASP protocol, enabling up to 70% faster read speeds and 40% faster write speeds when connected to a UASP-enabled host. This plug-and-play, bus-powered solution requires no external power source for 2.5" drives, making it an ideal tool for data migration, backups, and drive cloning while on the go. It is OS independent, working with Windows, Mac, and Linux systems without requiring any driver installation. Note that it is not compatible with 3.5" hard drives due to power requirements.
