Overview
The TP-Link MC210CS is a professional Gigabit media converter built to bridge traditional copper Ethernet networks with single-mode fiber optic infrastructure. It converts 1000Base-T RJ45 Ethernet signals into 1000Base-LX fiber signals using an SC connector, making it ideal for extending network connectivity over long distances.
Designed under IEEE 802.3ab and IEEE 802.3z standards, the converter supports stable Gigabit transmission for enterprise networks, campus deployments, surveillance systems, and building-to-building communication. It uses a 1310nm wavelength and supports transmission distances up to approximately 15km, while newer revisions may support up to 20km depending on deployment conditions.
The device features one auto-negotiating RJ45 Gigabit port with Auto-MDI/MDIX support and one SC single-mode fiber port. Front LED indicators provide quick status monitoring for power and network activity. It can operate as a standalone desktop device or be mounted into TP-Link’s media converter chassis systems for rack deployments.
