Overview

The StarTech.com HP J4858C Compatible SFP Transceiver Module (Model: J4858CST) delivers dependable Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over multimode fiber for short-range network links.

Designed as a drop-in compatible replacement for the HPE J4858C mini-GBIC module, this SFP transceiver supports 1000BASE-SX performance with 850 nm wavelength 

and LC duplex connectors, handling distances up to 550 m (1804 ft) on multimode fiber cable.

 It’s hot-pluggable and MSA-compliant, so you can install or upgrade it without powering down network equipment,

 and it includes Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM) for real-time optical status reporting.

Built and tested by StarTech.com, the module works with HP switches like the 1400, 1700, 1820, 2520 and 2530 series,

and is also compatible with other MSA-compliant network devices that accept uncoded SFP modules.
